Cardinals & Huskies await the new year as college football rings it in during their mesh in the Sun Bowl – 8-4 Louisville versus 6-6 Washington. (Louisville vs Washington)
The Cardinals going into this game have been in hot form as they have won their last two games, winning four out of five final regular seasons games. Lastly, they ended the 8-match ACC run on a commendable note with a record of 5-3.
With 23 touchdown passes thrown by QB Tyler Shough, the offense has been electric. But the RB Isaac Brown, a freshman phenom, averaged a nation-best 7.3 yards per carry on his way to 1,074 rushing yards-a school record for a freshman. It’s all explosive running from Brown that’s really being the backbone of Louisville’s success, and he’ll look to carry that on down in El Paso.
Having balanced offensive and defensive lines, Louisville made sure to dismantle rival Kentucky in their last scheduled game, blowing the doors off in a win of 41-14 along with managing to do that on the way.
Having found their fair share of ups and downs, the Huskies played their first-ever season in the Big Ten, thereby posting a 4-5 record in conference play while splitting their last four games, including the latest one that saw them bled out by No. 1 Oregon, 49-21 in their last outing. The underdogs failed to cover the 17-point spread and were terribly brute on both sides of the field.
With a total of only 18 touchdown passes through the whole season, Washington’s offense hasn’t been satisfactory because its average has only been 22.5 points per game; however, they do have some signs of strength and they’ll have to move fast on the same page if they ever intend to keep up with the speed of the Louisville offense.
